Terms of Service — Chargeback PDF Generator

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Chargeback PDF Generator Shopify application ("App," "Service"). By installing or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Service Description

Chargeback PDF Generator is a Shopify application that:

  • Accesses your Shopify order, customer, fulfillment, and risk data via the Shopify Admin API
  • Generates a formatted PDF document containing evidence relevant to chargeback disputes
  • Downloads the PDF directly to your device

The App is a document generation tool. It does not guarantee the outcome of any chargeback dispute. The success of a dispute depends on many factors outside our control, including your payment processor's policies, the card network's rules, and the specific circumstances of each case.

2. Eligibility

You must:

  • Be a Shopify store owner or authorized operator
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Have a valid Shopify account in good standing
  • Have authority to install third-party apps on your Shopify store

3. Pricing and Billing

3.1 Free Tier

Each Shopify store receives one (1) free PDF generation upon initial installation. This free credit is per-store and non-transferable.

3.2 Paid Usage

After the free credit is consumed, each subsequent PDF generation costs $2.50 USD (or equivalent), charged as a one-time purchase through Shopify's Billing API. The charge appears on your regular Shopify bill.

3.3 Charge Approval

Each charge requires your explicit approval through Shopify's standard billing approval flow. No charge is made without your consent.

3.4 Price Changes

We reserve the right to change our pricing with 30 days' notice. Price changes will not affect charges already approved.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the App only for:

  • Generating evidence documents for legitimate chargeback disputes on orders processed through your Shopify store
  • Accessing order data that belongs to your own Shopify store

You agree not to:

  • Use the App to generate fraudulent, misleading, or fabricated evidence
  • Attempt to access order data from stores you do not own or operate
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or modify the App
  • Use the App in violation of any applicable law or regulation
  • Resell or redistribute generated PDFs as a service to third parties without authorization

5. Intellectual Property

The App, including its code, design, and documentation, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App as intended through the Shopify App Store.

The PDF documents you generate are yours. We claim no ownership over the content of your generated documents.

6. Data and Privacy

Our handling of your data is governed by our Privacy Policy. Key points:

  • We access your order data in real-time but never store it
  • PDFs are generated in your browser — data never leaves your device
  • We store only your store domain, usage count, and billing references
  • All data is deleted within 48 hours of app uninstallation

7. Disclaimers

7.1 No Legal Advice

The App generates evidence documents based on your Shopify data. It does not provide legal advice. We are not lawyers, and using the App does not create an attorney-client relationship.

7.2 No Guarantee of Outcome

We make no guarantee that a PDF generated by this App will result in a successful chargeback dispute. Dispute outcomes are determined by banks, payment processors, and card networks.

7.3 Data Accuracy

The PDF reflects data as it exists in your Shopify store at the time of generation. We are not responsible for inaccurate, incomplete, or missing data in your Shopify account.

7.4 Service Availability

The App is provided "as-is" and "as-available." We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. We are not liable for any downtime, bugs, or service interruptions.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the App is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $50 USD, whichever is greater.
  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost revenue, or lost chargeback disputes.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

  • Your use of the App
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your submission of generated documents to payment processors or banks
  • Any dispute between you and your customers

10. Termination

  • By You: You may uninstall the App at any time through your Shopify admin panel.
  • By Us: We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, with notice when reasonably possible.
  • Effect: Upon termination, your access to the App ceases immediately. Pending charges will be settled through Shopify. Your data will be deleted per our Privacy Policy.

11. Modifications

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the App interface. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration in India, except where prohibited by law.
